Sigmavision TreadReaderEverard offer two versions of the Sigmavision TreadReader for the UK market, the TreadReader Drive Over ramp and the TreadReader Hand Held scanner. With an up-sell on tyres of around 46% we’ve seen great results for our clients’ garages, tyre bays, service centres and showrooms.
The TreadReader Drive Over ramp is a fully automated tread depth measurement system for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. The ramp is available for workshops and garages in three configurations: Surface Mounted or Flush Mounted for workshop applications, and a ‘Beyond the Workshop’ specification for the highest traffic-volume retail locations, such as public carparks.
As visiting vehicles pass over the ramp, the TreadReader laser measurement system captures outstanding 3D images, revealing tread depth and tyre wear. Automatic number-plate recognition captures the vehicle registration. The system records 300,000 data points on each tyre to ensure accurate and repeatable measurements, even if tyres are wet or dirty. A vehicle speed of 4-8mph is permitted. The system is kept clean using air knives and a shutter mechanism. Surface Mounted ramps require no groundworks, whilst a shallow pit is required for the flush-mounted ramp.
Our own exclusive Everard Group Ltd./Sigmavision TreadReader can also capture 360-degree photography of any vehicle crossing the ramp. Ideal for proof of vehicle integrity and quality to avoid any problems with false damage claims while on your premises. Another brilliant addition to our portfolio for the Workshops of the future. ™
The TreadReader Hand Held scanner is a compact and lightweight device. It’s quick and easy to use and counteracts those common errors and ambiguity linked to using manual depth gauges. The scanner is offered to the edge of a tyre and operated by sliding it across the tread face. In just seconds, accurate tread depth readings for tyres of all vehicle types - such as passenger cars, LCVs, HGV, PSV vehicles like buses, even trailers - can reveal badly worn or unevenly worn tyres highlighting potential problems such as wheel misalignment or worn suspension. Colour coded 3D scans enable tyre replacement at the optimum time to maximise tyre safety and present great revenue opportunities from increased tyre sales and/or service hours. TreadReader is suitable for wet or dirty tyres and is ideal for all tyre inspection applications in workshops, service centres, inspection lanes, commercial vehicle yards and at the roadside. The calculated data can be imported into any fleet management system and data from Hand-Held scanners can be uploaded to TreadManager for improved management of tyre sales opportunities.
